Wasn't owning LUCA one of the attractions of owning MAFL? Or did I dream it? I've bought some more of those recently, waiting for the inevitable but never forthcoming revaluations of its assets.

Thanks for another good drill-down 🧑‍🔧 OB 👍

I think they sold LUCA last year when their valuation goal was realised. I thought OB’s various articles describing the complexities of MAFLs ownership of Lagoa Salgada and Golden Sun were excellent and helpful. (Lagoa Salgada baffles me to be honest but I continue to hold MAFL in my pension).

Hi Poor, yes MAFL and Jacques became much more circumspect their holdings and MAFL shifted to large copper producers like Capstone Copper and Hudbay (which has worked well).

I think Lagoa Salgada will be a vast upside once it comes.... hopefully that was the "valuation event" in the next few months MAFL referred to recently..... Cerrado said it was progressing in a recent interview too.

Given the MAFL share price is basically NAV it's not anywhere in the price for now.

Well this finally gives me an idea for which I can use my Canadian dollars that have been sitting in the account for a few years

Surprised to see no mention of the recent cash drop $36.4m → $24.7m, which led to part of the recent stock price weakness.

Given the article’s emphasis of aggressive spend on expansionary capex it didn’t seem relevant. Surprised that this would lead to price weakness. If it did, then the market appears to have since forgiven the transgression.
