One of the big problems with DGI9 is the lack of communication about what it is doing!

Yes I agree - this was my last take on DGI9.

Arqiva, Aqua Comms and SeaEdge are all due to report in the coming month (even if TriplePoint don't update us) so look out for another OB article in due course!

This is worth a read also:

Thanks for the musings OB. RE DEC, despite the drop in the share price of late - to which it should be noted that the company has done what it said and been opportunistic buying shares quite aggressively ie tens of thousands of shares per day vs the prev daily 3,750 - has your fair value assessment for the company increased over the last year with all the transactions completed? Thanks, Mike

Hi MH,

I considered the 4 transactions in this article and netted them into a cost and benefit. Is that what you are looking for?

https://theoakbloke.substack.com/p/dec-iphering-synergies

For what it's worth I've averaged down today on DEC and am extremely pleased to be able to average down by 75p a share, as well as observe the circa $3m per week buybacks which is boosting the NAV.

I can't immediately think of any further article ideas around DEC (and of course I've written a fair few recently) but I'm open to ideas.

Thanks OB, I read the article you added the link for - I've not averaged down further though at these levels it appears worthwhile. I might have said that before ;) These transactions do appear pretty acccretive and synergistic - what has your fair value assessment for DEC increased to? I can't recall if you changed your assumptions on gas prices recently, I recall you were quite bullish over the medium term and expected them to pick up soon.

If there were more direct competitors that would be worth an article but you would likely have written more on that already had it been the case :)

Have you noticed that 3 different investors have increased their exposure to IPO and crossed the notification threshold this month, including Oracle Corp?

Base Resources is listed in Australia too. Is there any difference or preference between the UK and Aussie listing?

Good question and I don't believe so. There is a A$0.065 dividend and £0.0325 dividend for the UK. I believe both trade at equal prices - and also equal price to UUUU translating the 0.026 shares after the special dividend.

There's further good news out of UUUU regarding the medical radioisotopes and an acquisition they've made which will accelerate this aspect for them:

I also continued to hold IX Net zero into a private holding. Looking again at things Im unsure about this holding now. There may be a huge discount to Net Assets but there appears to be very little activity from the comoany and in its invetments. I find this extraordinary given just how much some of its executives get paid. Obviously there is also a huge dependency on Waste Fuel who also don't seem to generate much news or presence on the Internet. It also seems to be a pretty tough sector. Seemingly no progress on tbe south American bio fuel purchase either. That puts me in mind of Cadence and whether anything will ever emerge from the Amapa restructuring. I'm in that too 😳
